District 204 Iowa Caucus Trip

Reported by on 1/9/20

This event will bring juniors and seniors who have taken or are taking Government or AP Government from Metea, Neuqua and Waubonsie together to campaign for presidential candidates and to attend a Democratic and Republican caucus in Iowa City, Iowa. There will be a total of 45 students and six chaperones on the trip and we will be staying at a hotel in nearby Coralville.

The goal of this trip is to promote civic engagement and participation, build interest in the 2020 Election and understand how the caucus process works. Students will be able to select from a menu of pre-caucus options that align with their political point of view.

This trip is funded in-part by grants from the Mikva Challenge, Indian Prairie Education Foundation, and the League of Women Voters. Transportation to and from Iowa City on a coach bus, hotel and most food will be covered. The trip will only cost students $60.00.
