With in-person robotics activities on pause, Neuqua's seven robotics teams have kept busy pursuing Robotics Education and Competition (REC) Foundation online challenges. Entries into each of the challenges come from across the nation and are evaluated by the REC. The NVHS Robotics Club is ecstatic to announce that freshmen team 2360A has been named a winner for The Community Award Online Challenge Sponsored by Google.
The team developed a STEAM workshop targeted at third through fifth graders in our district. Each of the five 2360A team members rotate through Zoom breakout rooms present an aspect of STEAM to the elementary schoolers. The presentations include hands-on activities to engage the enthusiastic audience over the course of the hour-and-a-half timeframe. To date, workshops have been held at Builta and Spring Brook, with further workshops planned at Patterson, Welch, and Fry.
As an award winner, the team will receive a large gift certificate to the VEX store and automatic qualification and paid entrance fee for the virtual 2021 VEX World Championships in May. Visit nvrobotics.org for more information about this great accomplishment.
