Our Mission
The Neuqua Valley Department of English is a learning community dedicated to improving and enhancing student literacy in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and viewing. We are committed to educating each student to his or her potential in a culturally diverse society while providing a curriculum that fosters creative and critical thinking.
Graduation Requirements
Students must take eight semesters of English credit for graduation. Freshman and Sophomore students take yearlong English courses. During Junior and Senior year, students must take one semester of British Literature during Junior Year and then take one additional choice Junior year and two Senior year. Choice courses count as English credits toward graduation, Junior and Senior AP students take yearlong AP courses both years to fulfill their English graduation requirement.
Students may also take electives anytime Sophomore through Senior year. Elective courses do not count as English credits, but do figure into the overall credits for a student.
