2008 Course Registration Information

| Tuesday, January 29th | Core Course Recommendation Day This day begins and ends with a shortened Advisory Period. In the first Advisory period, students will view a video of instructions from the Director of Guidance. They will receive a two-ply form, which is their official Course Request Form. |

Wednesday, February 6th
|
Group Meetings for Course Registration Counselors begin small group meetings with students to discuss final course requests and to enter them in the system. Students will be pulled out of class for one period and they will bring the Course Request Form with final selections and a parent signature. |
| Friday, February 15th | Last day of small group counselor meetings |
| Thursday, February 21st | Final day to have all course requests entered in the system. |
Course Selection Instructions
1. Students must take a minimum of 6 courses each semester. The maximum
number of courses is 7. For semester classes, there will be no guarantee as
to which semester it will be in your schedule.
2. Students need to receive teacher initials for English, Math, Science, and
any course requiring teacher approval.
3. Please check for prerequisites before signing up for a class.
4. Students must register for two semesters of English in opposite
semesters, a P.E. class each semester, and a Math Class. Students must also
take American Studies or U.S. History if they did not take one as a
sophomore.
5. Students are encouraged to look at college requirements to determine a
final course schedule.

Course Planning Guide Information
DRIVER’S EDUCATION INFORMATION - Students are allowed into Driver’s
Education in birth date order with the older students having priority. If
you will turn 16 years old before January 1, 2009, you should register for
course #4198 (1st semester). If you turn 16 from January 1, 2009 to June 1,
2009, you should register for course #4199 (2nd semester). Students are not
guaranteed the Behind-The-Wheel Segment of Drivers Education during the
semester they take the classroom phase.
NCAA GUIDELINES - Students interested in participating in collegiate
athletics should work with their counselor to determine the necessary course
load to be eligible to participate. Information is also available at
