  • To represent their school on the athletic field…
  • To compete against other high school students of similar abilities…
  • To gain confidence and self-esteem…
  • To earn a Letter to wear on their jacket…
  • To provide more opportunities and experiences for students…
  • To provide invaluable lessons in life and sport.

Our Philosophy

We believe our student athletes deserve the best. The Neuqua Valley HS Special Olympics program can help unite students, promote understanding and build a sense of community. Neuqua Valley Special Olympics program supports year-round sports training, inclusion, team-building and character-development goals. This is what we do to insure we succeed.

We will provide exceptional service to student athletes.

Practice Policy and Transportation

If your son or daughter is not going to attend a practice or competition and should go home on the bus, you are asked to let Coach Kim Pehlke know in Room D141 by the end of 1st hour. We ask that this notice be in writing.

Transition students let them know and call or email Coach Pierson by the end of 2nd hour.

PRACTICES are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-4:00, no matter the season.

  • Volleyball and Basketball practices are at the GOLD CAMPUS with pickups there by the flag pole.
  • Swimming and Track are at the MAIN CAMPUS with pickup by Door 46 (pool doors)
  • Bowling is at Brunswick Zone and pickups are there by the N. Aurora Entrance.

Thank you for helping us by being at the pick up points promptly at 4:00.

Except for bowling, appropriate practice clothes and shoes are necessary.

For games and meets outside of Naperville we will take a bus to competitions.

If students are to go home with parents after away games they must sign out with the coach.

Coaches will

  • provide a quality program that maintains and improves sports skills and fitness
  • provide a safe and controlled behavior environment
  • provide timely communication for events
  • provide representation for student athletes’ voice with administration
  • provide leadership opportunities for student athletes

Coaches will involve families through fan and volunteer opportunities.

Effective communication, both internally and externally, remains a high priority.
